Synthetic media: provider and deployer duties

Distinguish provider machine-readable marking under Article 50(2) from deployer deepfake disclosures under Article 50(4). Not every AI-generated image is a deepfake. Determine the content type, your role and the applicable exceptions. Visible labels and provenance metadata serve different purposes; one generic badge cannot demonstrate every duty is fulfilled.

Use technical observations as supporting evidence. Confirm legal applicability and exceptions independently.
