About the Scanner
Building automated open-access technical diagnostics to help developers test technical transparency implementations.
Our Purpose
The European Union Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) establishes transparency obligations under Article 50. Implementing these technical requirements—such as machine-readable metadata and chatbot disclosures—can be difficult to verify manually.
The scanner records public HTML observations, possible widget integrations, notice excerpts and sampled image metadata indicators. It provides a rule version and source fingerprint for review. It does not validate C2PA signatures or use a language model to issue compliance verdicts.
Technical Audit Methodology
DOM Parsing
Our engine parses client-side HTML against known conversational AI script signatures (e.g., Intercom, Zendesk) to verify the presence of chatbot UI elements.
Metadata Inspection
Image assets are fetched and inspected using ExifReader for C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) manifests and standard IPTC/EXIF tags.
Text Analysis
Notice phrases are recorded from fetched public HTML. Applicability answers and excerpts are included in the report so reviewers can assess them in context.
